At the foundation of Confidios is the Perma Chain, a permissioned blockchain purpose-built for secure and permanent file management. The Perma Chain APIs expose direct access to blockchain-level operations, allowing external systems to:

  • Create and manage files on-chain, including appending new data, structuring directories, and organizing file paths.

  • Monitor file metrics, such as file sizes, storage use, and metadata.

  • Link files and data, enabling relationships between various on-chain assets.

  • Manage blockchain tokens, including tracking token usage, querying available balances, and transferring tokens between wallets or accounts for ongoing blockchain activities.

  • Access API specifications dynamically, allowing clients to fetch the latest version of Perma Chain’s OpenAPI documents (available in YAML or JSON formats) for seamless integration and automation.

This layer ensures that all fundamental blockchain interactions for data permanence, security, and operational transparency are available for system developers and integrators.

Sitting atop the Perma Chain, the Confidios layer provides essential services for user and group management, critical for organizing how individuals and teams interact with blockchain-stored data. The Confidios APIs include:

  • Identity management, offering full lifecycle capabilities for user registration, authentication (login/logout), and profile management.

  • Group management, enabling the creation, updating, and administration of organizational groups, setting permissions, and structuring collaboration.

  • Secure file sharing, allowing users and groups to share blockchain-stored files with controlled access, ensuring that the right data is available to the right parties while preserving trust and auditability.

This layer abstracts the complexity of direct blockchain interactions, delivering a trusted user experience built on top of the Perma Chain’s robust file storage infrastructure.

Above the Confidios platform APIs are Solution-Specific API Sets. These are targeted collections of APIs designed to meet particular business needs. These APIs orchestrate file collections and identity-managed data into higher-order structures to solve customer-specific challenges. Examples include:

  • Digital Product Passports (DPPs): APIs here allow businesses to assemble Trusted Credential Containers   (TCCs) by grouping related file sets (e.g., certifications, declarations, traceability data). These TCCs can then be versioned and captured into snapshots that form a Digital Product Passport: a living, immutable record of a product’s historical and current information.

  • Regulatory Compliance Solutions: The current flagship use case is supporting companies in demonstrating EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) compliance across complex supply chains.

  • Future Playbooks: Confidios will continue developing additional API Playbooks, each tailored to specific industries, regulations, or operational challenges, allowing customers to quickly implement blockchain-backed data assurance without needing to build custom systems from scratch.

This solution layer translates the underlying blockchain and identity capabilities into ready-to-use tools for business users and industry innovators.
